DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW:
The Cooler Operations Team is comprised of eight essential functions. These are Logistics (internal/external fleet), Supply Chain, Receiving, Cooling, Warehousing, Shipping, Manufacturing and Facility Maintenance and Engineering. The team is heavily focused on the receiving, cooling, and shipping of product in the shortest amount of time to ensure finished products are handled according to specifications. Along with the efficient movement of goods into and out of the operation, the team supports and manages the Bonifresh manufacturing operations. Functional support areas to these functions are Logistics, Warehousing, Supply Chain, and Maintenance. Combined the Cooler Operations will work together as one to ensure all internal and external customer needs are met in the highest regard for people safety, food safety, quality, and external customer needs.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
Maintains the efficient operation of plant systems and machinery by responding to requests for equipment assistance, trouble shooting, correcting machine problems, and conducting Preventative Maintenance tasks to support operations in production and throughout the plant.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Includes the following and/or other duties assigned based on business decisions.
- Performs all duties safely, follow all safety guidelines, and actively participates in site safety programs.
- Performs machine setups, installations and changeovers.
- Performs routine inspection, emergency/unscheduled repairs and preventive maintenance repairs of production equipment.
- Performs mechanical skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, PLC troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
- Reads and interprets blueprints, equipment/repair manuals, parts catalogs and work orders.
- Diagnoses problems, replaces or repair parts, tests and adjusts to ensure proper machine operation
- Performs regularly scheduled preventative maintenance on machines and equipment.
- Uses a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.
- Performs other duties as assigned as one develops into higher levels of the department.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Team oriented, collaborative, diplomatic, and flexible
- 3 to 5 years of experience in industrial/electrical maintenance preferably in a food production or manufacturing environment
- Advanced skills and experience with PLC, photo-eye, automation, fabrication/welding desired
- Ability to analyze, design, develop and manage machines and systems
- Confident/advanced use of computer and software
- Ability to work and thrive under time constraints and juggle/prioritize responsibilities with little supervision
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for extended periods; walk long distances; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; bend, stoop, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move from 20-70 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
